This winter an eagle's nest was spotted in Toronto. Its location is still mostly a secret. It is the first eagle's nest in many years.
The eggs have hatched and there are two healthy eaglets and their parents are doing a good job of raising them. It will be weeks before they can leave the nest.

This summer the young eagles will be out there and who knows, maybe we will get to see them.
It would be wonderful if the eagles returned next year and maybe their babies will stay in the area.
It really is a sign that some of our restoration projects are working. Who knows how much of a balance they can restore to the ecosystem.
Predators have a way of stabilizing things.
