Giant rat discovered in Solomon Islands
#1
It turns out there is a giant rat in the world. It can grow to 18 inches long and lives in the Solomon Islands. It lives in trees and can chew through a coconut.
Researchers from the University of Melbourne figured out how to photograph it. They are night time pictures, but you can see how big it is.
Of course it is danger of extinction because of human activity.

A rat that can crack coconuts with its teeth! I have trouble cracking coconuts with a hammer.
That is an impressive rodent. Capybaras may be bigger, but an 18 inch rat is impressive.
I just hope we let them live.
