Rare white alligator hatched in Florida
#1
A rare white alligator has just hatched at Gator Land in Florida. She is descended from a nest of white alligators found in Louisiana in 1987.
She is not actually an albino alligator. They have pink eyes. She is leucistic. Leucistic animals are totally white, but they have color in their eyes.
It is the rarest alligator mutation. Leucistic animals occur in other species, but they are rare.

She is so pretty. I hope she thrives and grows. I want to see what she looks like as an adult. I know she will get the best of care.
I am sure they will post pictures of her as she grows.

It is such an unusual mutation.
