Service dog alerts parents to diabetic daughter's high blood sugar
#1
The parents had just changed their daughter's pump and given her insulin. Everything was okay. They left her to sleep. Spy, the English Lab service dog insisted that they attend to their daughter. When they tested her blood, her blood sugar was dangerously high. The dog was right. Something was wrong.

Dogs are amazing. They have the ability to smell chemical changes in our bodies. They are responsible enough to act on what they know.
No human could have detected the problem without running a test. The just knew their was a problem.
Having a service dog must make live a lot easier for the parents. They couldn't tell anything was wrong. They had done everything they were supposed to do.
Without the dog, this could have ended badly. Sky and all other service dogs are real heroes. Sky of course is a special hero this time, but all service dogs want to be heroes.
