Architects want to save birds from buildings
#1
Millions, even a billion birds are killed by collisions with buildings. Changes in design could stop the slaughter. The birds can't see the glass in some of the big towers. They think it is open space they can fly through. Subtle changes in design would make the glass visible.

We need to make changes in building design. Bird populations can't sustain the losses year after year.
Do we really need big shiny buildings that are bird killers. I don't think they are that good looking. The bird friendly designs can be very attractive and we can feel good about them. It is hard to feel good about a building that is surrounded by dead birds every day.
I hope new designs catch on.
