After 10 years at a shelter, Cleto finally has a home

Cleto was in an abusive home as a puppy. He was rescued by West Coast Paws Dog Rescue. They were sure he would find a home soon. Somehow it never happened for Cleto. He was always overlooked. Ten years later he was still at the shelter. He was happy at the shelter, but he never had his own home.
The shelter posted about him on Facebook and the right family saw the post. After ten years Cleto finally has a home of his own.

It is hard to think of a dog spending that much of his life at a shelter. Some dogs just don't seem to get noticed.
I admire the people who go to a shelter and adopt whichever dog has been their the longest. They give a pet a chance who is clearly not being chosen. There is nothing wrong with a long time shelter resident. They just don't stand out. Other newer dogs get chosen first.

I hope Cleto is very happy in his first real home. I wish them many years together.
