Obese Chihuahua loses 2/3 of her body weight
#1
When Sox (formerly Sweet Tomato) arrived at Muttville, a senior dog rescue, the little Chihuahua mix was 30 pounds. Her former owners fed her a diet of bacon and eggs. She came in to the rescue when her owner became ill and could no longer care for her.
with good diet, exercise and some good care, Sox lost 10 pounds and then another 10 pounds.
When she was adopted she was a healthy 10 pounds and full of energy.

That is a real success story. Sox was formerly a 7 year old dog who, at 30 pounds, could barely walk. Now she is healthy and happy and has a good life in a caring home. She is getting a healthy diet and exercise and she can look forward to years of life in her new home.

Feeding a pet until it is dangerously obese is not a loving thing to do. You might think you are giving them what they want, but your a stealing a happy life from them. Dogs want to be active and energetic. A dog that can barely walk because it is so fat is not a happy dog.
