The Ellesmere Toad Patrol
#1
Every year when the toads come out of hibernation, they have top cross a busy road to get to their breeding ponds. Many are killed by cars. With the toad population declining something had to be done. The road will be closed from 7pm to 7am during the month of April.
The Toad Patrol will be out in force, making sure the toads get across the road safely. This dedicated team of volunteers will watch out for toads and make sure they cross the road safely.

Once again volunteers come to the rescue. Without them many toads would not make it. The fate of the species really depends on the work of the Toad Patrol.
Well done Toad Patrol. Thank you for your dedication.
