New Forest gets funding to restore habitats.
#1
The New Forest is a large national park in England. The Species Survival Fund grant will be used to restore habitats and help stop species decline.
Six hundred acres across 25 sites  will be enhanced. The New Forest is the last stronghold for some species so this is very important. They will work on woodlands, boggy mires, heathland, meadows, wetlands and streams. Also ponds, wetlands and meadows will be created.

This is a large project that should have tremendous impact. Improving the New Forest will not just stabilize animal populations in that area. Animals will spread out into surrounding areas. This will give vulnerable species the help they need to survive. This is the kind of thing the world needs right now.
I hope when other places see the good that is taking place in the New forest, they look for ways that they can do the same. If we did things like this all around the world it would change things for the better.
