Scottish Wildlife Law passes.
#1
A new Scottish wildlife law has passed final vote.
It involves licensing requirements for land where grouse are hunted. It banns the use of snares  and glue traps and regulates other types of traps.
It also requires licensing for controlled burning of the land. The controlled burns have benefits, but they can also do harm. The need to be regulated.
One purpose of the law is protecting golden eagles. Too many of the eagles have disappeared in past years under suspicious circumstances.
The need for licensing will be incentive to protect the eagles.

This is a big step in the right direction. Banning glue traps and snares cuts out a lot of animal cruelty. Controlling and training people will make burns
safer. The environment benefits if it is done right. Anything that protects eagles is important. Environments thrive when their apex predators thrive.
Well done Scotland.
