A swan reunion
#1
Heart
Heart  Trumpeter Swans mate for life. Mango and Charlotte are a bonded pair. They really do love each other.
Mango was hurt. Because of the amount of blood, Toronto Wildlife picked him up. The blood was compromising the waterproofing of his feathers.
Mango had a cut on his beak. It was easily treated and healed quickly. For Charlotte, alone back at the pond, it must have seemed like forever. She had no way of knowing where Mango was.
When they brought Mango back they filmed the reunion. It was beautiful. They just ran towards each other. No other love story has done it better.
Now they are side by side all the time.  Heart
Could there be little swans later this year?

Isn't that the sweetest thing you have seen.
Swans are beautiful birds and they really do bond for life.

Trumpeter Swans are native to North America. They were hunted to near extinction. They were gone from Ontario.
They brought eggs from a small swan population in Alaska. They were raised and released and they have settled in and the numbers have increased.
It is a conservation success story.

There are Trumpeter Swans on the ponds at Toronto Zoo. I never tire of seeing them. I have seen them with babies. I have yet to see one flying over.
It will happen some day. I will see them flying. Heart
