This is a list of 9 species of snake that make good pets. It all depends on what you want in a pet and what colors you like.
They are all very suitable as pets and comfortable living with people.

I currently have 5 of the nine species listed. They are all good, but corn snakes and ball pythons are the easiest to care for.
They don't get too big or need special care. The western hognose is probably the funniest. They are comical and they really do play dead if they get startled.
I was fooled when it happened and completely startled when the snake started moving again. My gopher snake is a beauty and he is special because he was born at my place. I have had him since he was an egg.
Snakes are not the right pet for every one, but if you like snakes these nine will be a good place to start.
