Gardiner rescues hedgehog from garbage

A gardener was outside with his daughter when he spotted a hedgehog. Then he noticed something pink around the animal's neck.
He caught the hedgehog and looked more closely. It had a plastic ring around its neck. The ring was pretty tight, but he was able to remove it.
The hedgehog seemed very happy and was glad to eat and drink before went on its way.

They saved that hedgehog's life. It would have died slowly because of the ring around its neck. We shouldn't be leaving garbage where animals can get into it, but we should also be cutting plastic rings to prevent animals from getting trapped. This hedgehog was lucky. How many other animals are not so lucky.
