Vet performs surgery on a Goldfish.

Merlin is a 17 year old goldfish. He developed a growth on his face and could no longer eat. The vet proposed surgery to remove the growth.
Surgery on a fish has a lot of unique challenges. Administering anesthetic to a fish is tricky. Also  the fish has to be out of the water for the operation.

Merlin seems to have come through  the surgery just fine. He is already eating.
Some of the growth was not removed, but enough is gone to give Merlin a quality of life again.
Who would have expected that a goldfish could have surgery.
