Fire at a zoo kills reptiles
#1
Very sad.Smiley19
San Antonio Zoo is really feeling its losses after a fire took their Komodo dragon and some other reptiles. It seems that they were able to save most of the collection, but how could you quickly evacuate a Komodo dragon.

It is always sad when animals are lost like this. We do our best to care for animals, but somethings we can't control.

I can only imagine the grief they felt when they carried her out.Smiley19

That's heart breaking for all concerned. To have cared for those creatures and not be able to help them, how awful.

I am glad they rescued most of them, but they had the Komodo Dragon for years(she was 15) and they are very clever. I am sure the keepers are heartbroken.
When you look after animals keeping them safe is a big priority. It would break my heart if I failed even if it was beyond my control.62
