A woman walking on a San Francisco sidewalk saw a commotion. A dove was attacking something.
It was a hamster! Somehow she got the hamster into a box and brought it home.
A year later she can't imagine life without a hamster.

Good thing she stopped to see what was going on. Without a rescuer, the hamster didn't stand a chance.
Hamsters can be pretty cute so I can understand why she  kept her. I think it was a lucky day for both of them.

I just can't imagine what kind of person would abandon a hamster on a city sidewalk.
