Drones used to track South American Turtle nesting site.
#1
Drones are being used to track the nesting site of giant South American River Turtles.
They were able to fly over a large area and photograph it without disturbing the animals.
It can give a much more accurate picture of what is really there on the ground. What they
found was a large nesting site along the Brazilian/Bolivian border.

It is important to track these turtles and know if conservation methods are working. They are key to the healthy of their ecosystem.
Drone tracking may still need some work to give accurate numbers, but it does show great promise for wildlife tracking.
In future researchers can track many different species, even in remote, inaccessible areas.
