Sand Lizards reinroduced in fire damaged areas

Sand lizards are rare. They have been gone from the Surry heathland for some time.
The area was hit by fire in 2015, The Sand Lizards were captive bred to be released in the area.
The conditions are right for them. It is hoped that they will settle in and start multiplying.

They are a cute little lizard. Who knows how much good they can do if they can thrive and multiply in the area.
Putting them back could have a lot of good consequences.
