Should Foie Gras be banned in Toronto

There is a real controversy around the sale of Foe Gras. Whole countries have banned it. It is the product of the cruel force feeding of ducks.
There is a real push to have it banned in Toronto and even in the whole of Canada.

Foie Gras is the product of animal cruelty. The ducks suffer from the way Foie Gras is produced.
Why is Toronto hesitating. Why is Canada hesitating. If it takes cruelty to produce something, why are we hesitating.
It should be banned globally and I think one day it will be banned. Until then, don't eat it and don't eat at restaurants that serve it.
No one needs to eat the product of animal cruelty.
