10 Canadian Animals that made it back from near extinction
#1
We have had some close calls with some of our wildlife, but conservation efforts have made a difference. In some cases the animals were actually gone from an area and had to be reintroduced. It worked and the animals are thriving now.

The Trumpeter Swans are actually established in Ontario again. They have spread beyond the release points.
The Whooping Cranes and Marmots still need our help, but they are doing very well.
The Buffalo are back and are gradually being increased in numbers and locations.
There are a lot of conservation efforts that are working. It is not just the endangered animals that benefits.
Returning species to an area has a positive effect on the whole ecosystem.
I sometimes get to see the Trumpeter Swans and knowing the story of their return makes each sighting a special moment.
Just knowing the Buffalo are back feels good. Let's keep the conservation efforts going. Who knows what other animals we can restore.
