Beavers are being returned to England with positive results. They control water flow so they mitigate the effects of drought and flooding. Tourists love them so they are good for local business.
Beavers have been released into fenced areas and somewhat controlled. Now they can be released, unfenced, to do their thing.

There is no doubt that beavers are the key to restoring the land.
The beavers balance the water flow. They just know what to do for the health of the land.
Much of what we have done has upset the balance of nature and depleted the land. Beavers set to work right away when released and
there is improvement right away. Restoring beavers to all their natural habitats is probably the best way to start restoring nature and healing a damaged planet.
There are other keystone species, but beavers regulate water flow. That benefits all species.
