A new vet hospital is opening in Toronto. It will be open 24/7, 365 days a year and you will be allowed to stay with your pet.
The thinking is that your pet needs a vet, when it needs a vet, not during limited clinic hours. When your pet is unwell or needs a procedure, the pet needs you there and you need to be there. Animals heal better under these conditions.

This is the first of its kind of vet hospital in Toronto, but there are other locations.

I like the concept. A frightened pet needs its people right there with it. Our pets must feel abandoned when we hand them over to strangers.
We need to be there too.
When I think of the times I handed an animal over and just got a vague phone call later saying the pet died, I still feel unsure. I wasn't there so I will never really know what happened. How did the pet die? Why did the pet die? I still think my cat would have survived surgery if I had been there when she woke up.
She would have woken up in pain, without me present and it was too much for her.
If this hospital can prevent this from happening, then this is a very good thing.
