Greece increases penalties for animal abuse

The Greek Parliament unanimously voted to increase the penalties for animal abuse. A person can now face a ten year prison  sentence,
Up until now the law was much more lenient. The abuser can also be fined thousands of Euros.

This is good news. Animal abuse can now be dealt with as seriously as it deserves. This may not deter all abusers, but it sends a strong message.
If we send enough strong messages perhaps we can prevent animal abuse.
