Korea plans to ban dog meat by the year 2027. In response to that 40% of the dog meat farms have already shut down.
It is anticipated that another 20% will be closed by the end of this year. That means 938 dog meat farms will have closed. That includes small farms with 300 dogs, medium farms with 300-1000 dog and large farms with over 1000 dogs.
The rest of the farms are being monitored and encouraged to close.
There is government compensation for businesses to help them out of the dog meat business.
On Feb 7, 2027, the dog meat trade will end in Korea.

This is actually happening. It has taken years, but the end in in sight. The dog meat industry is already half gone.
It is only a matter of time before it ends. I am cautiously optimistic now and I will celebrate when it happens.
Now activists can focus on other countries where the dog meat industry is far from over.
It is only a matter of time.
