Aw! I am sorry I missed this thread before!
An "Indigo Snake"...wow....I had never heard of them before. I suppose the snake went inside the car to find a warm place? It is lucky not to have been mangled. Silly cats do that also sometimes.
You are the perfect person to discover a snake on a plane....or on a bus....or meandering down the street! Everyone would think you are such a hero! When you would be doing what you like best.
