Fort McMurray pets reunited with owners
#5
It is good to have a plan for emergencies. Then, if an emergency happens you will just follow the plan and all will be well.
Or at least as well as the situation allows.

At the time of a crisis it is easy to forget really important things.

This situation was worse though. People were away from home and had to be  evacuated as the fire advanced. They couldn't get back to their homes.

I would want someone who is usually home to have my key and be able to rescue my animals if I can't get home.
I would certainly rescue my neighbours cat if anything happened here. I know three of my neighbours have dogs and I could try to rescue them if there was a problem.

It might be good to have a plan that involves other people who would help with a rescue.

I think the people of Fort McMurray did very well given the extreme circumstances.
