That would be a good idea ....for some animals who enjoy socialising with humans and being showered with "human-ness".
It wouldn't work so well for those who don't like being handled too much, or messed about with.
Yes contact with animals in a work environment is very "earthing" and can help with stress, and bring a little normality and sometimes humour. Some offices used to have fish tanks for that purpose. Although fish are not exactly a laugh a minute like a dog might be....it is very relaxing to watch them!
It is often very relaxing to spend time with an animal. Every evening when I visit the cat, Sally, we sit together in dim light and listen to classical radio on low volume. I almost always nearly fall asleep! Sometimes I do, and dream I'm walking home! haha
