Veterinarian provides post disaster help.

A veterinarian in Japan was aware that after a disaster, shelters will not accept people with their pets. Seeing a need, when he rebuilt his animal hospital, he set it up so he could shelter people with their animals. In April 2016 after an earthquake he sheltered 1,500 people with 1,000 pets.  He was proved right about the need for shelter space for people and their pets.

Tokuda Ryūnosuke is a man who is leading the way when it comes to helping people in disaster situations. He recognizes how important pets are to people's well being and their recovery from a disaster. Now he is pushing for more shelters to accept people with their pets.

Tokuda  Ryūnosuke is also working on a Trap Neuter Return program to deal with strays is Japan and a rabies eradication program for Bali. 
This man is a real hero for animals and their people. His work is making a real difference. If only the world had many more like him.
