My summer of the Rainbow Bridge

I have had my second loss this week. It has only been days since Martha died and now this morning I had another loss.

I brought Ella the pine snake home so she could spend some last months in peace. She seemed so tired, but she also was comfortable. This morning when I got up she had died in her sleep during the night. It must have been very quick and quiet. She was still lying in a comfortable position. 

I am glad Ella died peacefully, but I really thought we would have more time together.
She can join her Louis both in spirit and in body. She will rest in the garden with him. 


This is Ella saying goodbye to Louis when he died. She knew he was gone and she has never been the same since.


I am proud of my pine snakes Daniel and Rosie for making Ella feel so welcome.

Sadly I am going to have other losses soon. I know the signs. Even the best of care can't turn back the clock. Some of my pets are very much at the end of their lives.
