That is beautiful about Christian the Lion. I am not surprized he recognized the guys. Animals are smarter than most people realize. How could any creature forget that much love and kindness.
The young girl is a different issue. They did not know her, but she was a "cub" in danger from those that meant her harm. The lions recognized that fact and amazingly came to her rescue. The world is clearly a much better place than we realize.
It is built in to the nature of any parent(of any species) to protect a child. We protect our own children and we will even protect other people's children. When we rescue a kitten we are protecting some mama cat's child.
It seems that animals are doing the same back for us. How wonderful is that.
