This is definitely not true. I would have to look for the articles I have read about it. They can tell from the genetic makeup of the virus. They can usually trace the origins of viruses from a number of features. They have no quite sorted out the exact transmission origin, but they have narrowed it down.

We may never know exactly how this outbreak happened, but it is clear that it happened because of our improper interactions with nature.
The wildlife trade is cruel and harms endangered species. It seems it also endangers us as a species.
