Wuhan bans eating wild animals
#1
Wuhan, the probable source of the pandemic has banned eating wild animals. It has also  moved to buy out and compensate farmers breeding wild animals.
This is a recognition that the wildlife trade endangers us all. The only solution is to stop it completely.

This ban is good news for endangered species. Many of them are traded illegally and end up in wet markets Where they will be killed and eaten. Banning any form of wet market will give animals like the pangolin a chance to survive. A side effect of that is an increase in our chances of survival. Covid 19 is not our first virus to come from the wildlife markets. Remember SARS? That passed, but we haven't overcome this pandemic yet.  I don't think we want to know what other viruses are out there. Right now banning wet markets and the wildlife trade is our only hope for the future.

Wuhan has acted. Now we need to look around the world and find other places where wildlife is trafficked  and close those markets too.
