First Lady of Korea plans to end dog meat consumption

The first Lady of Korea has stated that she plans to end dog meat consumption. The remarks were made at a private event with animal rights activists, but the story is out there now. Dog meat farmers have rallied to protest her remarks.

There is already a decline in the dog meat industry in Korea. Much less is being consumed.
The popularity of the practice is declining. From the farmers point of view, they are scared for their livelihoods. Many don't know any other way to support themselves. They need to be transitioned into other types of farming. That could be done.
It is possible that dog meat consumption will end in Korea is the net few years. If it doesn't end completely, it is certainly declining.
It is only a matter of time now.  It would be wonderful to see the end of a brutal industry that causes so much suffering for dogs. Even one country ending the practice would be a major victory.
