I would take that as a sign that you have a bee friendly place.
Yes, I noticed that they tried extermination first. That is sad, but at least they made the choice to have the second set of bees rescued.
That is a huge number of bees. In a world where bees are dying, fifty thousand is a cause for celebration.
I am amazed at the number of bee rescues an bee keeping groups that exist in my area. There is a real movement to save bees.
I don't reject wasps either. I get along with my local wasps. They have a place in the ecosystem. I find if you stay calm around them they are calm as well.
I don't have 50,000 bees, but every time I garden I see a lot of different kinds of bees. They must have hive somewhere around here. Of course I am close enough to the down town where there are hives on high rise roof tops. Maybe my bees come from there.
