Racoons ride the subway in Toronto
#1
Everybody in Toronto rides the transit system, even our local racoons.

He does look like he has been there before. How often do racoons ride on the transit? Maybe more than we think.

Should he have paid a fare?  Anyone under twelve rides for free.

That's one smart raccoon! He really did appear to know exactly where he was going.

I know, he did not act lost at all.

Anytime I see animals in the subway system they look right at home. The doors are automatic and it would be easy for a pigeon or racoon to get on a train if they go in the same way people enter.

I looked out my back window one night and a racoon was sitting on my garden swing and he was swinging. He looked very comfortable and very much at home.

The racoons in Toronto have no trouble adapting to the humans around them. They consider us a good source of everything from food to transportation.

Let all the animals ride the trains and subways and busses!! Equal rights for all animals is what is needed in this world.

I don't think they can stop them from riding. The doors are automatic so any animal can walk in any time. What interests me is the fact that they know where they are going. You never see a lost animal on the subway, but I see plenty of lost people.

The animals ignore the confusing signs. They just know where they are going.
