Lost Gecko found three days later
#1
The Airline lost a pet gecko in the cargo hold. It took three days to find her.
Other animals get to travel in the cabin with their owners, but right now reptiles are stuck in the cargo hold.
They are very lucky they got her back alive. Geckos are tough, but in this heat she needed water.

She is a beautiful little lizard. I hope in future reptiles start traveling safer. The cargo hold is not a safe place for them.

Poor little thing. She must have been so scared, and dehydrated. Her people must have been very worried.
I can't imagine why a reptile can't travel with the passenger! So long as it is in a suitable carrier.

As far as I know, at least on US internal flights, very small dogs can travel with the passenger. I hope that one day we get a completely animal-friendly air service. So even if they can't travel in the passenger section (some might fight with each other for example, or there might be a mix of cats and dogs) -they should have their own comfortable section where they are crated, and a dedicated attendant is monitoring them. And that is their job on the flight.

Just sticking any creature in cargo is bordering on cruel.

Cargo holds are too dangerous for animals.  There have been too many accidents that resulted in injury or death of the animal.

I would like to see all reptiles allowed to travel with their owners.

In this case it was a small rather harmless lizard.  No one needed to know it was there, but it would have been safe.
