This is great news and the dogs will be loved and appreciated here.  A number of Yulin dogs are coming to Toronto.

Wonderful news! May they all find their own forever homes! Please keep us all posted of developments. As for the initial quote of $6000 for each dog: that's way more expensive than travelling in business class! I hope they get a realistic quote soon, especially since the price is dropping, as providers realise that Toronto won't be ripped off.

My internet speed refuses to cope with that news item right now. I am sure it will work late tonight, in which case I will read it.

It's great to hear that dogs from Yulin are coming into Toronto. I am certain they will all be adopted and find happy homes.

I just feel so sorry about possible stolen dogs who may have once had loving families in China...but of course, without any possible means to identify them, their best hope now is a new home and new loving family. They are such very lucky dogs, and a lot of work has gone into their rescue. Bless them all.

This is a similar article. I will keep looking until I find out when they arrive. They will have no trouble finding homes. Toronto brings dogs in all the time because we have so few strays.

There is a strong movement against Yulin here in Toronto. We have a Chinese consulate to protest against.

If you look at this article and go down the page to related events and click on Bloordale Laneway crawl you will see a picture of me with the owner of the Reptile centre holding some of our reptiles.

10,000 candles... a moving vigil in memorial of the dogs who passed at Yulin. Very sad, but I can see how the people of Toronto care very much. If I were there I would go to it.

Oh yes I see you Catherine! Who is that on your chest?
That snake is a whopper! What breed is he/she?

The lizard is one of our bearded dragons and the two snakes are ball pythons. We did a bit of a reptile show out back in the laneway. It is part of a movement to celebrate the many busy laneways in Toronto. Our laneway doesn't have a name, but some day it will.

There is a strong animal rights movement in Toronto. There are many people who help the feral cats and take in strays.

Dogs are brought from other shelters to Toronto and they quickly find homes.

Helping the Yulin dogs and holding a vigil for them fits with all the other things that happen here. There are a lot of rescue greyhounds here and Chihuahuas brought in from L.A.  The Yulin dogs will find wonderful loving homes here. I wonder how soon they can bring them. It is the best solution to bring them to other countries. It leaves them with less dogs to care for back in China and it guarantees that the dogs are really safe.
