Fake Halloween cobwebs are dangerous for animals
#1
It is that time of year where people put out decorations for Halloween. Many people use the fine fake cobwebs.  Bees and even birds can get caught in the fibers and be trapped. Without help they will die. The real danger happens when people spread the web over plants that attract the bees and birds.

If the web can't be used safely maybe we should stop using it.

I am sure other decorations could be harmful. Any decorating that is done should assess the potential harm to animals first. If it
seems dangerous, it probably is. It would be good if we all could have a safe and happy Halloween and no little animals be harmed in the process.

I always thought those Halloween cobwebs looked dodgy, but didn't think it through. They obviously will cause yet more pollution to enter the environment, causing damage. They would be okay used inside and disposed of carefully. But to put them outside sounds like a very bad idea.

People often drape them over shrubs. I never thought about little animals, birds and insects having a problem.
We need to think about all our decorations. Many can be deadly for animals.
