By the spring of 2018 it will be compulsory for slaughterhouses to have CCTV cameras installed in the UK.
The intention is to cut out the abuse that has been captured on hidden cameras lately. It won't change the fact that animals are being killed, but it should stop some of the horrible abuses we have seen.

This is a start. If they had CCTV cameras inside factory farms it would help stop the abuse there as well. The whole system is inherently abusive to animals. It will take more than cameras to change it. Perhaps if people see how their food is killed it will change their attitude towards eating meat.
