Zoos effected by panic buying--saved by donations
#1
Some of the small zoos in England are having trouble feeding their animals because of panic buying. Foods they need are not available or they are being restricted in how much they can buy. Many foods are more expensive. They are asking for donations of feeds, but it may not be enough.

This is a serious problem. When people buy up and hoard foods they deprive others who need those foods.  It is bad when the hoarding effects your neighbours. When it is a zoo that has a problem getting food it is more serious. Many of the animals cannot eat other food choices.

I don't know what they are going to do. I hope local shops will help them out with an extras they can spare.

This started out as an unhappy story with a possible tragic ending. People  heard and they responded. The zoo has been overwhelmed with donations of many different foods. People have given what they can and arrangements have been made for more. It is an odd time for the animals, but they are happily trying out new foods.

I was really hoping that people would respond. I am sure  people who have visited the zoo over the years were happy to give something back. There are a lot of good people out there. If they know there is a need they will do what they can to help.
