That is very sad to hear. This post reminds me of a video i saw before some years. It was a competition of which team cooks faster. The guy took a fish from a bowl or something and then put it in hot oil while it was still alive ! 
Then he put the fish in a plate while it is half alive and he poured some gravy on it. Similar thing with a snake which seemed more horrible, he cut it's head and entire body faster to small pieces and poured some gravy on it.
The person who came to check which team won, this person touched the pieces of snake body while it still had some movement ! I thought how that can be considered as a competition and it's one of the most cruel things i have seen.
