Work on Trans Mountain pipeline stopped by a Hummingbird
#1
A tiny species of hummingbird has stopped all work on a stretch of the trans mountain  pipeline. The hummingbirds nest in the trees and they may not be disturbed while they are nesting. So the birds are safe and with them the trees are safe, It is just until August, but it is an important break.

Even a temporary halt to the pipeline matters. Many other species nest and live in the forest. This gives them more time. It gives the pipeline protesters more time.
Maybe by August some other reason to halt work can be found. Until then a tiny little hummingbird is protecting a whole stretch of forest.
