2000 Rhinos for sale are to be rewilded
#1
A privately owned, South African Rhino farm has put its 2000 rhinos up for sale. No one was making an offer on them and their future did not look good.
The conservation NGO African Parks has stepped up and has bought all the Rhinos. Over a period of years they will be introduced to the wild.
They will be sent to a number of areas and it is thought that they will make a good transition to wild life. They are not really tame now.

This is the best possible solution to the situation. The rhinos are safe and they will have a good future.
It is the end of the rhino farm which is a good thing. The owner of the farm was wanting harvest and sell rhino horns.
Even if it was done without harming the rhinos, it is no good to encourage the sale of rhino horns. The people who buy it won't be concerned about how the horn is harvested. It just encourages poaching.

I hope we get to hear updates of how the rhinos are doing as they return to the wild.
