India bans 25 breeds of dogs

Effective March 12, 2024, India has banned 25 breeds of dogs. There will also be restrictions on breeding certain breeds of dogs.
PETA has been involved in the process of developing the new laws.

This is a pretty complex set of rules. I assume the reasons are safety when it comes to the breed bans and preventing animal exploitation in the breeding bans.
This is what is happening, but I would need to read more background material before I would comment on it.  I will look up the PETA web site and see if they give more detail.
