This is terrible. People from the Squamish Rehab Centre were walking some of their dogs. They were heading for home when a hunter shoot and killed a dog. He died right there in his owners arms.

The hunter may have had a permit for a legal hunt and it may be hunting season. I just don't think people walking their dogs are ever an "in season" animal. Clearly when he shot, he had no clear idea of what he was shooting at. The hunter is responsible for this incident. He made a careless shot that could easily have killed one of the people walking with the dogs.
I don't know what kind of penalties are possible, but there needs to be consequences. Kaoru deserves better than what happened to him.
